MouthShut.com, one of Asia’s first user-generated portals with over 32 lakh registered users has modified its mobile reviews that would now enable a user, from any part of the world, to submit reviews through a unique number that is accessible and available to every phone across the globe. The review posted will be published in the homepage of Moutshut.com and the SMS charges are said to be local, depending on the SMS plans.

Mouthshut.com is also working on introducing SMS based ‘Real Time Social Network’. In addition to this Mouthshut.com has even tied-up with Google to provide reviews. This concept was test marketed in the year 2007, and rolled out after that but now it has been made free.

In conversation with exchange4media.com, Faisal Farooqui, CEO, Mouthshut.com said, “Companies have begun to realise the importance of valuing their consumer and consumers also realise the importance of telling what they require of the brand. Mouthshut.com allows brands and consumer to talk to each other. Hence we introduced an SMS service that allows one to post short review to a particular number, which is accessible and available to every phone in the world. We are also working towards introducing SMS based Real Time Social Network.”

“While PC penetration is low in India, it is still a dominant force when it comes to the internet. It would take some time for mobile internet to make it big but the mobile segment is growing tremendously. Mobile social network is the next big thing in India according to us, and for any social network to be big, there has to be value, we have the largest number of restaurants and food related reviews, in fact we have innovated and introduced restaurant photos, ratings, menu cards thus opening the platform directly to restaurants,” added Farooqui.

The current advertisers of Mouthshut.com include Windows Mobile, Nokia, LG, Tata Motors etc.
