MyGamma.com, a mobile social networking community, has chalked out plans to become a leading player in the domain. The WAP-enabled site connects two distinct audiences around the globe – the newly connected emerging middle class in developing markets and the blue collar sector in developed regions. These ‘unwired’ consumers are accessing the mobile Internet on their phones due to widespread and affordable wireless access.
MyGamma.com currently has over 3.1 million users across 76 countries in the world. The community claims to have grown from 0 to 670,000 users in India since its launch here in 2005.
In addition to the normal community interaction by a user through chat, groups and blogs, the MyGamma community also has other activities like sharing testimonials, Vote for Your Favorite User, Hall of Fame, Gamma Life ladder, Games, Merchant Store.
The community also has a merchant store for buying rich media content through Gamma Dollars-myGamma community currency. Gamma Dollars are points that can be bought through a premium SMS or credit card and used in the community for buying content, gifting, etc.
