Moving on from cricket, Nike is targeting Indian football lovers through a site dedicated wholly to football, Nikefootball.in. As part of its first initiative, Nike has announced ‘Where’s the next?’ football event.

Sanjay Gangopadhyay, MD, Nike India, said, “Nike sees this as an opportunity to feed the passion for football and to provide a premium experience for some of the most talented football obsessed teens in the country. It is our belief that such forums will provide aspiring footballers with the much needed exposure for them to be recognised.”

The winner of the contest will get an opportunity to be part of the 11-member team from Asia. They, along with their coaches, would also get a chance to meet the FC Barcelona team, and would be coached for a week at the club in the last week of August this year.

The contest begins from July 15 for teenagers in the age group of 15-17. The participant is required to post a one-minute video displaying his or her football skills on Nikefootball.in, along with the name and personal details. Last date for posting entries is July 31, 2007.
