Maruti Udyog Ltd has tied up with Akamai Technologies for website content delivery services to enhance the performance of its websites. Akamai will provide Maruti with content delivery networking services, which means Maruti can now outsource their Web infrastructure needs on an on-demand basis to handle the surge in online traffic and enhance website performance without worrying about scalability.

Maruti will be saving additional infrastructure cost and users can now experience a faster surfing speed, as the content will now be delivered from over 15,000 servers of Akamai across 69 countries.

“By enhancing our website performance, we are using the Internet to add tremendous value to the information we provide to our customers and investors. We invest heavily in making our cars the best in the Indian automobile industry, and our website needs to showcase the same,” a Maruti official said.

Maruti has a total of 16 websites, including the mother website www.marutiudyog.com. Following the launch of its latest model ‘Swift,’ the car major’s websites have experienced a phenomenal surge in web traffic.
