ZenithOptimedia has made two senior appointments at its Delhi office to strengthen LiveROI as its core offering. Rajesh Kumar has come on board as Chief Strategy Officer, while Mayoori Kango has joined as Chief Digital Officer to look after the entire digital offering from the group.
Chief Digital Officer is a new role that has been created at ZenithOptimedia.
Talking to exchange4media on the new appointments, Satyajit Sen, CEO, ZenithOptimedia said, “The three core components of LiveROI are active understanding of consumer, dynamic engagement and real-time performance, majorly in the digital space. Rajesh, given his creative background is the left brain thinker with blue sky thinking who would help us in product strategy, early trend-spotting to make conversations more engaging with the consumer. Mayoori, given her experience in the most developed digital markets in the world, would help us take a lead in the social and mobile space, adapting best practices for Indian consumers. This is a conscious effort to take our LiveROI thinking to the client.”
Kumar joins ZenithOptimedia from Hindustan where he was heading the marketing function. Prior to joining Hindustan, he has worked with agencies such as Ogilvy & Mather, Lowe Lintas, McCann Worldgroup in senior roles in the planning function. Kumar has more than two decades of experience in the marketing and advertising industry. Speaking to exchange4media, Rajesh said, "I joined ZO for its excellent planning system, Live ROI and its work culture. It is forward looking. It has digital woven into it, not just at the periphery. Above all, the ZO network possesses a deep understanding of the interconnected-ness of media. There is a tremendous opportunity to apply learnings in the fast changing market in India. ZO has a growing basket of brands and clients. With Live ROI, I'm sure we will grow it bigger, faster."
Kango has worked in New York with organisations such as Digitas, Resolution Media, 360i, to name a few, at senior positions prior to joining ZenithOptimedia. Commenting on joining ZO, she said, “India is at a cusp of a huge change in terms of digital. This is an exciting time to be in this market; the potential, the challenges are many and I am excited to bring my experience into a market that has a lot more personal meaning to me. I hope be able to leverage all that I have learnt in the last several years in the US digital space to add a dash of innovation and excitement that can yield positive results for the clients of ZO in India.”
It may be recalled that earlier this year, during the launch of the new LiveROI positioning by ZenithOptimedia, John Taylor, Chairman and Client Services Director Worldwide, ZenithOptimedia, while speaking to exchange4media had said, “We are planning to invest in human resource that comes from various backgrounds as a part of this change. You will see us brining more talent. You will also see some new roles in the way we are structured. We would bring in people with expertise in content, production and mobile as we talk about integrated performance through various channels.”
The new appointments apparently are a move in the same direction.
