Yahoo Inc has launched its mobile display-advertising platform on the Yahoo Mobile web service (m.yahoo.com) in 19 countries across Europe, Asia and the Americas, enabling advertisers to reach consumers around the globe on their mobile phones.
Major global advertisers, including Hilton's Embassy Suites, Infiniti, Intel, Nissan, Pepsi, P&G Asia-Pacific and Singapore Airlines will launch the inaugural mobile advertising campaigns on this new platform beginning on today. The advertisements will run near the top of the Yahoo mobile web home page. Consumers will be able to click on these interactive ads to directly call the advertiser or to learn more information about the advertiser's offer.
"Yahoo's clear leadership in Internet display advertising, combined with the global reach and popularity of our mobile services, makes it natural that top advertisers are coming to us to go mobile," said Yahoo Inc Senior Vice-President, Mobile and Broadband Steve Boom. He also claimed that this latest tool offers the world's biggest advertisers the ability to work with one trusted partner to reach millions of targeted audience of engaged-consumers on both their PCs and mobile phones.
Yahoo provides solutions across both display and search advertising, including customised research and unparalleled targeting and measurement capabilities. Yahoo, which is working with a large majority of the AdAge Top 100 advertisers, said this launch is another key initiative to extend its leadership in the display segment.
On deciding to use this platform, Nissan’s Media and Interactive Marketing Director Steve Kerho said, "Nissan is always looking for ways to interact with consumers using new means of communication. The new Yahoo mobile web service is the perfect medium to directly engage consumers worldwide, and expose them to exciting projects we are working on, such as Nissan Live Sets, which is an intimate concert series on Yahoo Music featuring artists like Christina Aguilera, Tony Bennett and John Legend."
"We've had exceptional results reaching our consumers on Yahoo Online," said Pepsi-Cola North America’s Interactive Marketing Director John Vail, adding, "now we can reach consumers when they're on the move and communicate with them in a way we haven't before."
Yahoo's Mobile web service is available on most mobile phones across major mobile operators around the world. It also unveiled a streamlined mobile web homepage that makes it faster and easier for consumers to search, check their email, instant message, stay current on breaking news, catch up on sports and more.
The new advertising platform and home page is live on the Yahoo Mobile web service in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, the US, and Vietnam.
