As part of its marketing plans, Yahoo! India is planning to revamp its home page in line with Yahoo.com’s global design strategy. In addition, Yahoo! India is all set to launch a new property called ‘Yahoo! Dating for SMS‘ within a week in an effort to woo the youth segment.

This service is leveraging on the expertise and learning that Yahoo! has built in this space said the source.

Recently, Yahoo! India and Pepsi Foods Ltd launched an aggressive online marketing initiative to promote Pepsi’s new launch ‘Pepsi Aha’. On Yahoo! India’s future tie-ups with Indian corporates, the source said that they are looking at marketing tie-ups with many Indian companies.

Incidentally, the portal started with the launch of its communication products Yahoo! Mail & Yahoo! Messenger for SMS in September last year.

As for the USP of Yahoo! Dating for SMS, the source claims that each user gets a user name and password, which is unique, and unless he/she shares it with someone it remains a secret.
