With launch of Blazar, Quasar Media eyes over 20 pc market share

Quasar Media, the online media agency owned by WPP Group, on Thursday, November 12, 2009, announced the launch of Blazar, a 360-degree digital marketing agency, to strengthen its market share and wield its influence on digital media buying for its clients. Quasar Media is reportedly eyeing a market share beyond 20 per cent, post the Blazar launch.

Manish Vij, Group Co-founder, Quasar Media, told exchange4media, “With the launch of Blazar, Quasar will further strengthen its digital marketing presence in the country, our market share will increase and our leadership position will become much stronger. While in the year 2009 we have grown, we will see further growth in the year 2010. Our priority, however, will be to build creative and social media capabilities in the country.”

Speaking on the launch, Vij said, “There is immense potential for the growth of digital marketing in India and for brands to embrace it. We believe that Blazar will help us expand our reach and allow these brands currently untapped to utilise top-of-the-line digital marketing consulting services.”

Blazar launches at a time when digital marketing has become an integral part of all major industry verticals and has proven its value of efficient engagement.

Both Blazar and Quasar will operate in separate ecosystems with their respective teams and processes. Blazar will be based out of the state-of-the-art facility set up in Gurgaon, Haryana. One of the key factors behind any successful venture is the strong understanding of business, and Blazar, right from its inception, will capitalise on the learning’s of Quasar to provide digital expertise to clients helping them build and execute strong digital strategies.

Blazar will provide expert consultancy on all aspects of the digital marketing mix, including mobile marketing, digital advertising, online media buying, online reputation management, social media marketing, search engine optimisation and marketing. The agency will also offer creative, technology and software development services.

Deven Dharamdasani, formerly Business Director at Quasar, will spearhead the media business at Blazar and consolidate media buying for the group nationally. Dhardasani is currently Head of Media and Business Development at Blazar. He has over a decade’s experience in digital spectrum and specialises in setting up processes and marketing strategies for clients to help them move up the digital marketing curve.
