Whisper launches online community for teen girls

In a bid to connect with today’s wired generation, Whisper from P&G has gone beyond the traditional forms of communication and gone interactive. The feminine hygiene brand has launched an interactive online community called BeingGirl.co.in for girls in the 14-19 age group to share their joys and anxieties and get solutions to their growing up concerns.

BeingGirl.co.in is a guide to knowing what a girl always wants to know, but perhaps never asked. There are various interactive sections – viz. Your Body, Your Mind, Beauty, and Love and Relationships. For serious advice on family, friends, school and health, one can click on ‘Advice for Life’. Personal advice can be sought by posing the problem to ‘Ask Nisha’, a girl’s virtual friend.

Nayantara Bali, General Manager, Feminine Care, P&G ASEAN-Australasia-India Region, said, “As India’s No. 1 feminine brand, Whisper understands the experiences, fears and apprehensions faced by every young girl. Along with providing superior period protection, with the launch of BeingGirl.co.in, Whisper will once again allow every Indian girl to enjoy these beautiful experiences of growing up and be part of their lives as she discovers her womanhood.”

“Just as 90 per cent of India’s most progressive women trust Whisper, we hope that many more girls will benefit from Whisper’s ongoing effort to educate young girls on their life and body by logging on to BeingGirl.co.in,” Bali added.

Girls who became members of BeingGirl.co.in could win special VIP privileges such as get exclusive access to music downloads, online gaming, polls, etc.
