Web18 launches Hindi portal Josh18.com

Web18, the online property of Network 18 Group, has launched its Hindi portal, Josh18.com. Aimed at the growing Internet-savvy young population in the country, the portal intends to provide them a platform for news, information and blogs. The portal will also host a library of videos from CNBC Awaaz and IBN7. A section on Hindi literary works will allow users to review the latest released books.

While the ‘Pehla Panna’ section gives users an insight into the current events of the world, ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ provides updates with the most important news of the day. ‘Nayee Zindagi’ will update readers with the latest trends across the globe – in fashion, technology or tips to play safe in the stock market. ‘Kitaabein’ is the special section on Hindi literature.

A blogging section ‘Garam Chai’ has also been incorporated into the portal and allows users to categorise the feature into various specialised sections like ‘Hum Kaun Hai?’, ‘Bahas’, ‘Aapki Baat’, ‘Mitra Mandali’ and ‘Global Chai’.

Commenting on the launch of Josh18.com, Surya Mantha, CEO, Web18, said, “Internet is a medium which is touching the remotest parts of the world. In such a competitive scenario, it is very critical to look into the needs of the Hindi-speaking belt who contribute substantially to the economic growth of the country. Josh18.com is our effort to help the Hindi-speaking audience keep pace with the fastest growing environment.”

Neeraj Sanan, Marketing Head, Web 18, added, “With the launch of Josh18.com customised to suit the requirements of the Hindi-speaking audience, we are confident about reshaping the online space for Hindi portals. The portal has been launched after a great deal of research and dedication, and we are confident the portal will answer all the questions an Internet surfer comfortable in Hindi always wanted to ask.”
