Web18 launches Hindi portal

Web18, the online property of Network 18 Group, has launched its Hindi portal, Aimed at the growing Internet-savvy young population in the country, the portal intends to provide them a platform for news, information and blogs. The portal will also host a library of videos from CNBC Awaaz and IBN7. A section on Hindi literary works will allow users to review the latest released books.

While the ‘Pehla Panna’ section gives users an insight into the current events of the world, ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ provides updates with the most important news of the day. ‘Nayee Zindagi’ will update readers with the latest trends across the globe – in fashion, technology or tips to play safe in the stock market. ‘Kitaabein’ is the special section on Hindi literature.

A blogging section ‘Garam Chai’ has also been incorporated into the portal and allows users to categorise the feature into various specialised sections like ‘Hum Kaun Hai?’, ‘Bahas’, ‘Aapki Baat’, ‘Mitra Mandali’ and ‘Global Chai’.
