Social media is becoming increasingly relevant to businesses. At an exchange4media event, Kanika Mittal, Head, Digital Marketing and Brand Communications at Reebok India, explained why bands are focussing more on social media to connect with their consumers.
“Till now, brand presence on social media was more about conversations than engagement. But, now we are finally asking each other some realistic questions about hard-core business objectives—what are all these efforts leading to, are they impacting sales and lead generation? All brands, including Rebook, are waking up to the reality pertaining to the need of the social in business,”she said.
Defining the ideal scenario for brands, she pointed out that all social efforts should lead to increased traction on e-commerce and offline sales, and bring the whole thing together—from the consumers engaging with the product to him actually buying the experience with it.“Once this loop closes, social for business will truly become the reality brands are waiting for.”
