Video: Tilt towards digital more pronounced - Neeraj Roy

Neeraj Roy, Managing Director and CEO, Hungama Mobile (Hungama Digital Media Entertainment) remarked that currently India is the third largest internet population and in the next few years, India will be largest digital market in the world.

Roy explained that the initial phase of growth of digital took place with the high consumption of data through various digital media. Now, the growth in the digital space will be seen sector-wise. Thus, education, commerce, etc. are to see a lot of impetus in terms of digital.

Elaborating on the overlap of digital and print in media, Roy explained that it has already happened in some of the mature markets and other markets will soon follow suit. Thus, instead of worrying about the overlap happening, all the platforms should start creating a strong digital strategy to face it when it happens.

Hungama won a Silver at IDMA 2013 Grand Finale. Roy expressed how important initiatives such as IDMA are for the industry.
