Trailers of Kaabil, Kahaani 2 and Rock On 2 keep social media abuzz

Bollywood set the social platforms abuzz with the release of three big movie trailers in a span of two days. Between October 25 and 26, YouTube saw the trailers of two sequels including the rock musical drama ‘Rock On 2’, Sujoy Ghosh's much awaited suspense thriller ‘Kahaani 2’ and Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil.’ The latter drew in over 5,904,685 views, while ‘Kahaani2’ and ‘Rock On 2’ fetched in over 3,774,969 and 2,852,018 views respectively. 

Nitin Bhatia, Director Agency Partnerships, Meltwater, who mapped the social media activity around these trailers says, “Looks like the tinsel town just found Diwali week the best time to create buzz for their upcoming flicks. Rock On 2 was already buzzing on Instagram & Twitter over the last few days. The trailers of ‘Rock On2’, ‘Kaabil’ and ‘Kahaani 2’  released simultaneously and we saw that Hrithik Roshan fans took social media by storm for their favourite actor's upcoming flick. Our monitoring tool monitored more than 7800 conversations around ‘Kaabil’'s trailer over the last few days, the other two trailers had similar number of social media mentions."

From the data they have gathered, ‘Kaabil’ generated most conversations on social media of 7.88K followed by ‘Kahaani2’ at 3.38K and ‘Rock On2’ at 3.37K.

"Hrithik Roshan’s fan following is far higher compared to Vidya Balan and Farhaan Akhtar. Credit also goes to the ‘Kaabil’'s digital marketing team who succeeded in creating excitement about the trailer. We saw ‘Kaabil’ lead its way with maximum YouTube shares hence more viewership and more conversations," points out Bhatia.

Interestingly the trailer of ‘Rock On 2’ made more noise on Instagram with 973 mentions followed by ‘Kahaani2’ 409 and ‘Kaabil’ 377.
