TheNewsMinute.com raises funding from Raghav Bahl & Ritu Kapur-led Quintillion Media

TheNewsMinute.com (TNM), has  raised an angel round from Raghav Bahl and Ritu Kapur-led Quintillion Media (publishers of TheQuint.com, a diversified multimedia digital content platform).

The News Minute is run by journalist and author Chitra Subramaniam, former Times Now (South) Bureau Chief Dhanya Rajendran and Vignesh Vellore.  Started in 2014, The News Minute is a news and current affairs platform.

Commenting on the partnership, Vignesh Vellore, Co-Founder of TheNewsMinute.com said, “The investment from Quintillion Media will enable us to reach our true potential. We will focus on expanding our team, enhancing our technology, and marketing our content better to reach out to a wider audience. This will also help us in implementing a long-term business strategy’’.

Ritu Kapur, Co-Founder, The Quint, said, “TheNewsMinute.com is an outstanding digital news platform created by Vignesh and team.  In a short span, the TNM team has created a space for themselves in digital news media, especially in Southern India.  We believe that the TNM team has the potential to grow to greater heights in the coming future and we are happy to partner them in this journey’’.

Quintillion Media recently tied up with DA Vinci, Germany, and launched a TV and digital platform for kids -- Da Vinci Quint -- in India.  In addition, Quintillion Media has also made angel investments in Sheroes, a women-centered community and job portal, and Youth Ki Awaaz, an online news and views portal.

Ritu Kapur, Co-Founder, The Quint, will join as a director on the board of Spunklane Media Private Limited, the parent company of TheNewsMinute.com
