Sulekha.com launches in 20 Tier II & III cities; plans to launch in another 15 cities

In a bid to expand its India footprint, Sulekha.com, the online classifieds and yellow pages portal, is foraying into 20 Tier II and III cities. With this, Sulekha.com will establish its city-specific search services in 28 cities in India – Agra, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Cochin, Coimbatore, Goa, Indore, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Madurai, Nagpur, Surat, Trichy, Trivandrum, Vadodara, Vijayawada and Vizag. The portal will also offer its mobile classifieds and yellow pages service in these 20 cities. Going further, Sulekha.com plans to expand to 15 more cities in the next four months.

Speaking on the expansion, Satya Prabhakar, CEO, Sulekha.com, said, “Sulekha.com is a name for information on local commerce. We are now expanding the leadership in top eight cities in India to the next 20 cities. We are channelling millions of users to relevant SMEs in each city, increasing their business risk free through an advertising model in which Sulekha.com guarantees responses. We have plans to launch in another 15 cities in the next four months. We chose these cities on the basis of the traffic we got on our sites from these places.”

To support this expansion drive, Sulekha is launching a new TVC in a week’s time, which has been done by their agency JWT.

With an extensive database of local business listings and classifieds ads, Sulekha.com aims to create the best of services for both the businesses and its consumers. It has also recently launched its assured advertising solutions for small businesses, whereby they only pay per response. By the year-end, Sulekha.com aims to attract at least 50,000 advertisers to go live on the site. For the mobile classifieds and yellow pages service in these 20 cities, users can SMS their requirements to 566778, enabling easy access to local needs.
