Sprinklr looks at evangelising e-mail marketing space in India

Sprinklr, a digital marketing services company specialising in e-mail marketing, has tested the Indian industry for the last six months and is now ready for the next phase of it growth. E-mail marketing, which is very popular in the West, especially the US, has not met with much success in India. Sprinklr seeks to bring about changes in the field, which has not been well attempted in the country in the past.

Ragy Thomas, Chief of Board of Advisors at Sprinklr, has been focusing on the digital marketing, particularly the e-mail marketing space, and has been at the helm of leading global players in this arena in his 15-year career. Talking about this venture, he said, “We are looking at evangelising the e-mail marketing space in India and want to communicate to people that it is a cost effective solution, which guarantees maximum ROI. We have the technological expertise to deliver effectively to our clients based on our experience in the other markets, especially the US.”

e-mail marketing is used extensively in the US by travel, retail and financial services sector. Thomas vouches for the efficacy of this medium. He said, “We have seen that the clients who have used e-mail marketing in India have got results and, in turn, we have seen almost 200-300 per cent growth month on month. Our value proposition is that we offer world class expertise at a palatable Indian price to our clients.”

He added, “India does not have a direct marketing or database marketing legacy. There are certain basics of e-mail marketing that one needs to get it right and this can’t be done in haste. We understand automation and work on segmentation with use of sophisticated technology. This has helped us in providing world class services at better prices.”

The Bangalore-based company plans to expand and have presence in Delhi and Mumbai in the next six months. It is also working on a way to target people on social media networks via e-mails. They are planning the details on this as it is a space which marketers have been trying to enter, but haven’t figured out the right way of doing this. Thomas said, “We are working on something exciting in this space and would be sharing further details closer to the launch.”
