Smarties India 2012: Maxus sweeps inaugural awards

Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) presented the first ever Smarties India 2012 Awards across 15 categories in Delhi on September 21. The Smarties is the only global awards programme dedicated exclusively to mobile marketing and recognises local, regional and international campaigns in a global contest that truly showcases the ‘best of the best’ in the industry.

Maxus is winner of the Agency of the Year Award, while Campaign of the Year Award has been presented to Titan HTSE for ‘Light powered Media for Light Powered watch’ campaign done by Maxus. The Publisher/Media Company of the Year Award has gone to

Maxus has bagged the most number of metals at 16. The agency had 20 entries in the finalists’ list.

The first edition of Smarties India 2012 awards winners were adjudged by a global jury of senior brand marketers and advertising executives under the guidance of Jury Chair Vishnu Mohan, Chief Executive Officer, Havas Media Asia Pacific.

Congratulating the winners, Rohit Dadwal, Managing Director, Mobile Marketing Association – Asia Pacific, said, “The innovative campaigns designed by the winners highlight how mobile is transforming the way brands and agencies approach their marketing strategies to meet their objectives across the purchase funnel.”

He further said, “These campaigns are a real representation of the innovation, creativity and talent in India that are defining the boundaries of mobile marketing as an effective channel of engaging consumers like never before. We have clearly reached an inflection point and are at a very exciting stage of marketing in India.”

The first Smarties India 2012 Awards were presented by IMImobile. The other partners of the event included, Madhouse India, TELiBrahma, Times Mobile, Ozone Media.
