Sify's women's channel Sitagita.com has now gone a step beyond covering all facets of a woman's life. This Chennai based portal that targets working women between the age groups of 25 and 45 will now enable advertisers the opportunity to host micro sites.
According to Bindu Dijendranath, Manager -Market Support, Sitagita.com, "We created the micro site for Henkel, that gives all details about their brands. We've also got interesting contests lined up, that have helped entice viewers".
Bindu Dijendranath explained that Sitagita also has its own micro sites. She revealed, "Today we launched a micro site on haircare. We hope to concentrate on skincare and the like each week. So we are working towards branding these micro sites with the help of big brands".
SitaGita.com that gets close to 1.3 million page views per month is however more content driven. Exudes Nirmal Mirza, CEO, Sitagita.com, "While our target group comprises of women who have spending power, much of our content is about self improvement. So you will find anything a woman needs to know of, in our site".
Sitagita.com is also the only portal that has 92 experts online. Covering issues from Ad film making to Adventure sports to Astrology, Beauty and Culinary skills, one can log on, post a query and expect the expert's response in a week's time. "This is what we are most popular for", explained Bindu Dijendranath, who also added that even though SitaGita.com is a woman's portal, a lot of men post queries as well.
Otherwise, the portal also offers Online classes on varied topics such as Finance, Home Décor and cooking.
Now they are working towards branding their portal offline, through 24 books that will be published by Rupa. Explained Bindu Dijendranath, "The first two dealing with social graces and corporate etiquette have already been released". The company also has plans of starting a finishing school some time in the future.
