Senior journalist Shutapa Paul joins Newsd as Editor-in-Chief

Senior journalist Shutapa Paul has joined Newsd, a growing new age mobile-based information, curation and dissemination platform, as Editor-in-Chief. 
Paul has been a journalist for over a decade having worked across various mediums such as television, newspapers and magazines. She has covered politics, economy and current affairs. She has worked for well-known brands such as Forbes India, NDTV, NewsX, India Today and The Week.

Commenting on her new role, Paul says, “Digital media is reshaping journalism and the media space as a whole. As more and more people move onto consuming news and entertainment through their smartphones, this space will only grow bigger. I am very excited to be foraying into this space with Newsd, which is an expanding digital platform that has path breaking plans for the media space. I look forward to bringing in new ideas and further invigorating the group.”

Speaking on her appointment, Mayur Shekhar Jha, Founder and Managing Director of Newsd, says, “The media industry stands at the crossroads as digital media redefines the sector. Shutapa joining us is a game changer as she brings with her experience across television, print and new media. We are excited to have her on board.”

Newsd is a new age information, curation and dissemination platform with an aim to provide best curated news service in the most concise manner. 

The group released the Little Hearts online-only campaign, #BreakSomeHearts, early this year and is on the path to make many more of its brands available on the digital platform
