Sanmarg unveils e-paper and SMS service

Sanmarg, the largest circulated Hindi daily from eastern India, has introduced two new initiatives for its readers - the Sanmarg e-paper and the Sanmarg SMS service. Sanmarg has launched the e-paper venture in collaboration with Bodhtree Consulting Ltd.

In order to access the exact print replica of Sanmarg, the reader has to log on to http://epaper.sanmarghindi.com. An easy to use simplified process has been devised whereby readers, no matter where they are, can browse through different pages of the e- version of Sanmarg.

The other initiative introduced by this publication is an SMS service for the young, upwardly mobile Kolkatan, who wants to stay well informed with updates on current news, sports, events, etc. The SMS service also facilitates downloading of ringtones, jokes and screensavers on the mobile phone. To access this service one has to type the desired key word and SMS it to 7333.

Speaking on these initiatives, Vivek Gupta, Director, Sanmarg Pvt Ltd, said, “The whole idea behind the e-paper and SMS venture is our endeavour to make available news anytime, anywhere – ‘jab chahein, jahan chahein, khabrein payein’.”
