Samsung India has announced the launch of, what is popularly termed as ‘Cyber Olympics’, in India – the World Cyber Games 2008. The eighth edition of the World Cyber Games (WCG) is supported worldwide by Samsung Electronics and is being held in India in association with Indiagames.
The WCG India preliminary rounds will be held in Delhi on October 17-18 and in Mumbai on October 23-24, with the national finals being held in Mumbai on October 25. The national winners will represent India at Cologne, Germany, for the grand finale of World Cyber Games 2008.
WCG, a unique computer gaming event, is designed to build a healthy cyber culture. The best gamers around the world gather in various cities to share the excitement and fun of the game tournaments. WCG has been promoted on lines of the International Olympic movement. Samsung Electronics is the main sponsor for WCG in over 70 countries this year.

The WCG venue will also have on display Samsung T Monitors and the company’s recently introduced range of laser printers.

The World Cyber Games in India will witness participation from not only computer and video gaming enthusiasts, but also for the first time, mobile gamers from across the country.
