Rohit Sawhney joins Ibibo as Head of Mobile

Ibibo has roped in Rohit Sawhney Head of Mobile. He moves from Virgin Mobile India, where he was Head of VAS. Ibibo already has a strong presence in the Internet space and has also branched out into the mobile space. Sawhney’s role will be to identify key opportunities in this area and enable usage of Ibibo across multiple platforms.

The company has also been working to integrate services on mobile, and some areas like social games are already available on the mobile web. Users can also perform the more typical actions of downloading wallpapers and ringtones.

In the course of his career, Sawhney has also worked with Envio Networks, Indiatimes and Airtel. As Head of VAS at Virgin Mobile India, he had headed the wireless broadband, music, voice and communities vertical and was responsible for new product development.
