Reliance Communications ties up with for city-specific search

Reliance Communications has announced a tie-up with online social networking and local commerce website This association will help Reliance Mobile customers to carry out city-specific search on their mobile phones, which will be powered by

The tie-up will also provide Reliance Mobile phones subscribers with the option of downloading the city-specific details onto their mobile handsets and further share information with other users. Aimed at increasing the functionality of the mobile phones, the search option will appeal to the customers’ varied needs and interests. With’s access to over a million listings across eight cities, customers’ access to local information will be highly enhanced.

The service is available on all Reliance Mobile World-enabled handsets and costs Rs 3 per search. Reliance Mobile users have to click on CitySearch in Reliance Mobile World to glean information pertaining to a specific city. This is essentially the mobile extension of the Yellow pages section of

This application further enriches the existing portfolio of search products like ‘Content search’, which allows a user to search for Reliance Mobile World content.

Another similar application on the Reliance Mobile World is the ‘City Guide’, which offers viewers utility information such as listing of airlines, hotels, movies, hospitals etc. on nearly 34 cities in India. These services are unmatched in the country in terms of their accessibility and availability in real-time. Furthermore, Reliance Mobile hosts one of the largest databases of user-generated or posted classifieds on mobile.
