Red Digital to manage social media duties for World Series Hockey

This winter, Hockey will be on everyone’s mind. World Series Hockey (WSH) is all set to roll from December 17, 2011 to January 22, 2012. Social Media specialist Red Digital has been engaged by WSH to manage their social media presence. After successfully handling the social media presence for many of India’s top brands, such as Mumbai Indians, Adidas Cricket, Godrej and Monginis to name a few, Red Digital has now bagged the responsibility for building a social media presence for WSH.

WSH will see Indian and International players being allocated to multi-city franchise-based teams as per the internationally accepted and practiced draft system wherein they will showcase their talent in 61 scheduled matches with over 200 players participating in the event. The inaugural edition of the league will comprise of eight teams out of Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Pune, Bhopal, Punjab, Ranchi and Rourkela.

Leveraging this social media fervor, Red Digital is enabling World Series Hockey (WSH) to gather the most amount of support across social media platforms. Red Digital will manage World Series Hockey’s (WSH) Facebook fan page and Twitter handle; providing the latest updates on the league for the much fun-filled fanfare. Red Digital also provides customized social media and gaming solutions on various platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Flash, iPhone and Android.

Red Digital is currently engaging fans in viral activities such as trivia, games, polls, promos and contests to keep fans abreast on latest happening of the upcoming Hockey series. More importantly, Red Digital is exposing the Facebook community to Hockey and all the things involved with the game and tournament. These captivating and enthralling activities are aimed at resurrecting the love for hockey and having an emotional connect with hockey lovers.

Some of the Indian stars that will be seen in action during the series include Dhanraj Pillai, Rajpal Singh, Sandeep Singh, Adrian D’souza, Sardara Singh, Prabhjot Singh, Arjun Halappa, Diwakar Ram, Bharat Chetri, Dhanajay Mahadik, Shivendra Singh, Mandeep Antil, SV Sunil, Rozhan Minz, William Xaixo, Prabodh Tirkey and Yuvraj Walmki. Olympic and World Cup Winning Australia team Capitan Brent Livermore and other Champions from Austral-Asian countries like South Korea, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand are set to join WSH. With such a galaxy of hockey stars, the series would be vibrant and competitive.
