Pushkar Sane leaving Starcom MediaVest

Pushkar Sane, Chief Digital Officer, Starcom MediaVest (one of the largest media consulting, planning and buying firms globally), on March 1, 2011, confirmed the news that he had put in his papers. Sane has been based out of Hong Kong as Global Head of Social Marketing Practice at Starcom MediaVest.

Speaking to exchange4media, he said, “I have enjoyed my last five and a half years at SMG, but there are always new things to learn and explore. I’m grateful to Starcom MediaVest Group for giving me the opportunity and freedom to shape digital in Asia. These are exciting times for digital and I’m certainly looking at leveraging that excitement. I’m standing at a crossroad of diverse digital opportunities, with each one of them leading to exciting destinations. I’m looking forward to an amazing journey.”

Sane had joined SMG in August 2005 as Director of IP North East Asia and was promoted to General Manager, Asia for Starcom IP in March 2007, before his current appointment as Chief Digital Officer - North & South Asia in November 2008. During his tenure with the agency, he had worked across key clients such as General Motors, General Electric, Mead Johnson, Richemont, P&G, and Samsung.

In this time, he was instrumental in scaling up SMG’s digital operation in the region and built capabilities across different dimensions of digital. Sane has also served on the Global Digital Management Group since 2008 and on Global Product Committee in 2008.
 

The group released the Little Hearts online-only campaign, #BreakSomeHearts, early this year and is on the path to make many more of its brands available on the digital platform
