Close on the heels of announcing its partnership with TechCrunch to bring their City Events into India, PlatformPlay has roped in seasoned digital media pro Abhishek Punia as Director & Head of Supply and Strategy.
Commenting on Punia’s appointment, Rammohan Sundaram, CMD PlatformPlay said, “Abhi is joining my leadership team and we have several exciting rollouts that we would be working together on and I looking forward to the journey with him.”
Punia spent close to six years with Interactive Avenues, where he had dabbled in multiple roles and was last Account Director as well as Head of Buying for North market and recently moved into the Coke account with Reprise Media, which is a JV between IA and IPG Media Brands.
On joining PlatformPlay, Punia said, “We are in exciting times with the market about to explode, I wanted to do something different after spending six years at IA and Reprise, and when an entrepreneurial role like this came my way, it took me not more than a day to make a decision to join Ram’s venture. We already are on a roll with some great work that we have embarked on at PlatformPlay and I am looking forward to an exciting innings here.”
PlatformPlay is Rammohan Sundaram’s second entrepreneurial venture, having sold his previous company, NetworkPlay, to Bertelsmann AG’s Gruner+Jahr. PlatformPlay is part of the SVG Group, which owns majority shareholding with Manish Vij on the board of PlatformPlay with offices in Gurgaon, Mumbai and Bangalore.
