Oneindia.in launches interactive tools for Google Desktop and iGoogle

Oneindia.in has launched an interactive set of desktop tools, popularly known as Gadgets, for Google Desktop and iGoogle homepage. The tools have been developed to save users’ time by fetching information directly from the Oneindia.in portals.

The Gadgets have been developed for all language portals of Oneindia.in, including, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. Apart from languages, Oneindia.in Gadgets are available for its news, entertainment and living channels as well. While the Gadgets get live updates from Oneindia.in portals, users will be able to customise the feeds by selecting various category options available in the Gadget.

“This is an exciting time for Oneindia.in, as we launch language gadgets for Google users,” said B G Mahesh, CEO, Greynium Information Technologies, which owns Oneindia.in. “Oneindia.in has always been the first to offer innovative services to the Internet community, and now with the Oneindia.in Gadgets for Google, users can receive their favourite Oneindia.in content straight to their desktops, in their own languages,” he added.

The Oneindia.in gadgets for Google Desktop and iGoolge are currently available for Windows OS only and can be downloaded from www.oneindia.in/gadgets.

Oneindia.in is a leading Indian portal delivering content, community and commerce to Indian consumers, businesses and the global Indian community. It has been serving the Internet audience for the last eight years (the language portals have been live since April 2000). Google Desktop gadgets are interactive mini-applications that can be placed anywhere on the user’s desktop or docked in the Sidebar to show new email, weather, photos, and personalised news.
