One97 Communications Pvt. Ltd, a company specialising in telecom value added service innovation for the domestic and international market, has tied up with AirChord TeleVentures to launch JuiceUp, a mobicast, i.e., a mobile-broadcast application, for the first time in India on April 13 this year.
One97 Communications has also partnered with NMS Communications to launch the first video SMS service in India.
JuiceUp is an exciting and innovative mobile application, which allows users to listen to live audio feeds and watch video feeds over GPRS/data connection. With the help of JuiceUp, users can now tune into any radio channel that is streamed over the Internet from their mobile phones. This application has been developed on a proprietary technology, which allows high quality music broadcast over small data throughput. The application will allow the user to access numerous feeds from across the world, including audio feeds of various Indian languages such as Bhojpuri, Malayalam, Tamil, etc.
Video SMS is an innovative, interactive and fun way to send messages on mobile phones. Two telecom service providers have already signed up to provide this service to their subscribers, while others are in varying stages of finalising access to the service. The video SMS application gives the user the capability to send voice messages that can convey emotions in an exciting video format. Besides, any current handset can support this feature.
AirChord TeleVentures specialises in end-to-end solution with highest quality mobile multimedia service, while NMS Communications is an applications and platforms provider that develops and deploys VAS on mobile and converged networks.
Commenting on the launch, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, MD, One97 Communications, said, “At One97, we recognise that the mobile is a very personal medium. The ability to make it possible for the end user to receive and send a personal choice of audio-video content by streaming has been an innovative and exciting development. JuiceUp fulfils the dream of mobile subscribers for easy access to every kind of existing content on the Internet, and also to upload their own content for public broadcast.”
