The much-awaited Aamir Khan-starrer ‘Rang De Basanti’, which recently ran into trouble with the Indian Air Force and Maneka Gandhi, has found an ally in MSN India. MSN has used the power of blogs to generate hype around the movie in an exclusive tie-up.
Under this arrangement, MSN Spaces has created blogging spaces for the six lead actors of the movie, which enables netizens to chat and interact with them. In addition to this, MSN will also web cast the premier of the movie on the day of the movie’s theatre release on January 26.
All one has to do to watch the premier is log in using one’s Hotmail ID.
Elaborating on the tie-up, Krishna Prasad, Head of Programming at MSN India, said, “MSN primarily has been bringing people together, connecting them. With our association with ‘Rang De Basanti’, we wanted to do something unique and wanted to go beyond what we did for ‘Mangal Pandey’. Thus, with this tie-up we have taken Spaces to the next level. These spaces, mind you, are not the generic spaces but, in fact, are very insightful spaces, where the fans across the world can connect with their stars.”
He further said, “We at MSN are constantly up to the challenge that the online medium presents. Now we are on the verge of taking search engines down to the common man’s level and are working in a direction to add a lot of interesting stuff on the search engine. Huge windows live strategy is another big thing to watch out for. This apart, the portal is committed to step up is efforts on Bollywood and cricket in order to best connect with our target audience.”
