MSN adds more sponsors to Olympic web site

Microsoft Corp.'s MSN said it signed six new sponsors to the official Winter Olympics Web site. General Electric Co., Kimberly-Clark Corp.'s Kleenex brand, McDonald's Corp., Office Depot, Universal Pictures and Xerox Corp will integrate online branding messages with Olympics content.

McDonald's will tout its new tastes menu on the site, along with a dedicated contents section called Visions of Gold, created by the fast-feeder, MSN and its digital shop Tribal DDB, a unit of Omnicom Group's DDB Worldwide, New York.

MSN, NBC, MSNBC and the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the Olympic Winter Games are collaborators on the creation, maintenance and implementation of the site at www.olympics.com. Qwest Communications is the official Internet infrastructure provider to the Games, running all high-speed communications into and from the venue.

The Games begin Feb. 8 on NBC with the opening ceremonies.
