Mobile2win, FremantleMedia sign exclusive deal for ‘Indian Idol 2’

Mobile2win (M2W) has entered into an exclusive tie-up with FremantleMedia Ltd (owner of the Indian Idol format) to launch a full-power line-up of exclusive mobile content around the show.

M2W has created and will be powering up a WAP site totally dedicated to Indian Idol content which covers, wallpapers, animations, picture messages, colour logos, videos, true tones, polytones, monotones and the Indian Idol Mobile Game.

All this content that is exclusively licensed to M2W, has been conceptualised and created by M2W. The mobile content is downloadable from operators across the country via GPRS and SMS.

This content is deployed across operators and the wap site, Wap.setindia.com. This content is exclusive content mandated to M2W and consists of Indian Idol’s mobile game, wallpapers of favourite contestants and the judges, animations, ring tones, videos (never before seen behind the scenes footage), caricatures, colour logos and Indian Idol theme song.

In the Indian Idol game, viewers can experience the fears and joys of being a contestant by competing against the other contestants and proving to the judges who is the true Indian Idol.

Rajiv Hiranandani, Country Head, M2W India, said, “Creating and delivering the entire mobile package has required tremendous amount of co-ordination and team work. Creating customised mobile content around popular shows is proving to be of great value to the network operators and the content owners and we are well placed to deliver the same. The Indian Idols content zone is just the first among a host of TV content rollouts we have planned over the next six months.”

The Indian Idol videos are a peek into never-seen-before footage of the show. These videos (and all other content) can be downloaded on to any Java enabled handset via the Indian Idol zone through operators like Airtel, Hutch, BPL, Idea, Spice, Reliance, BSNL, MTNL, Tata and Aircel covering all circles across the country.

The Indian Idols Mobile content will also be available for downloads on Wap.setindia.com and can also be downloaded by sending II as an SMS to 2525. This is live across major mobile operators.

M2W intends to create waves in the mobile space as it has created with exclusive mobile content for ‘Sholay’, ‘Jassi’, ‘Home Delivery’, ‘Lakshya’ and Mobile Karaoke; the Indian Idol Mobile package is yet another step in the right direction.
