Stage is set for the final clash for the Indian Digital Media Awards (IDMA) 2013, with the distinguished jury panel shortlisting the finalists for the 52 awards categories. The screening council witnessed and acknowledged the best of work across the Indian digital space executed in 2012 at the jury meet on June 7, 2013.
IDMA this year received 856 entries across 52 out of 59 sub-categories. Out of the vast sea of work, 219 entries managed to make the cut and reach the finalist stage. The screening council picked top five nominations in each category, which were selected based on top scores.
Maxus leads the field for IDMA 2013 with 20 nominations. Following Maxus are Interactive Avenues, Grey Digital and ibs with 12 nominations each. Contract is placed third with 10 shortlisted entries. Viacom18 leads the race in terms of client entries with 12 nominations, followed by Disney, which has five shortlisted entries.
Mobile, being a comparatively newer category, has seen tremendous response. Maxus leads the segment with six nominations. India Today Group, Disney and Viacom18 are some of the clients that have been shortlisted for their phenomenal work on mobile.
India being a social media hub, it was no surprise to see the amount of entries in this segment. The quality of work and level of innovation took the jury by surprise. In the social media segment, Grey Digital leads the charts with four nominations. Web as a category witnessed the maximum number of entries this year. The segment saw a vivid variety of work across various verticals such as e-commerce, gaming, micro website, rich media, banner advertising and a lot more.
The Indian Digital Media Awards cater to a much larger base this year and have nine special awards, which include Best Digital Innovation, Best Digital Report, Best Digital Start-Up of the Year, Best Innovative Idea or Concept, Best Integrated Campaign – Social Cause, Best Integrated Media Campaign – Corporate, Best Integrated Media Campaign – Films/ TV Shows / News Shows / Events, Best Integrated Media Campaign – Product/ Services, and Best Use of Technology.
IDMA 2013 will conclude in a gala event on June 25 in Mumbai. The awards function will not only celebrate the best digital work but also exhibit how much digital marketing has grown in the country.
