MAUJ unveils FunStation for MTNL's Dolphin users

MAUJ, one of India's leading wireless solutions providers, has announced the launch of FunStation, which is MTNL's exclusive GPRS portal.

FunStation will allow Dolphin users to download the latest wallpapers, polyphonic ring tones, themes, games, videos, news, information on fengshui, numerology and various other value-added services. The entire portal has been designed, powered and will be managed by MAUJ.

Commenting on the launch of FunStation and the tie-up with MAUJ, Shri Goyal, Executive Director, MTNL, said, "Value-added services such as Rich Media content in the telecom space is the consumer's demand today and we have realised that if we are to maintain the growth, we will have to cater to this growing demand. FunStation is one such initiative from MTNL in association with MAUJ, which is a market leader in its space. We are confident that MAUJ's rich experience in providing wireless solutions will provide us with a definitive edge in catering to the consumers increasing demand for quality entertainment on their mobile handsets."

Meanwhile, Dippak Khurana, Regional Head - India & Far East, MAUJ, said, "We are extremely happy and excited with the launch of FunStation. MAUJ has been successfully running GPRS businesses for other leading mobile companies like Idea Cellular & BSNL across the country but the challenge here was to create something different. Keeping this in mind and the local flavour and essence of Mumbai, we designed MTNL's FunStation which is innovative yet simple, but highly rich in content. We are confident that MTNL Dolphin subscribers will enjoy their halt at FunStation as much as we did in creating the same."

MAUJ has also tied up with UTV to make wireless content from the upcoming Ram Gopal Varma's movie 'D', available to Dolphin subscribers on FunStation. 'Dolphin' subscribers will be the first ones to have access to wall papers, ring tones, movie clips, songs, themes, etc., from the movie through FunStation and by SMSing 'D' to 7007.

The service was unveiled by Kuldeep Goyal, Executive Director - MTNL, and Rajpal Yadav and Rukhsar, actors from the movie 'D', along with, Anupam Mittal - Chairman & CEO - People Interactive (the company that owns MAUJ), Aditya Shastri, COO - UTV, and Dippak Khurana.
