Quasar Media, a leading interactive agency in India, has been awarded with the online media buying for, a leading online travel company.

Sachin Bhatia, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer for, said, “For our online advertising media account, the agency on record is Quasar Media while Studio Smile will be looking after the bulk of creative. For the first eight months that is from August to March, the account size is Rs 2.5 crore.”

For advertising on TV, print and outdoor, Leo Burnett is the creative agency for, while Starcom will handle the media account. The total business is in the region of Rs 4.5 crore.

The company, which is currently present in the US, UK and Australia, will be making its foray into the Indian market in August 2005. The company's plan includes launching a comprehensive basket of products in India, starting with outbound and domestic travel services for the leisure and small-business traveller. will offer online flight bookings, real-time hotel reservations and a host of ready-to-book holiday packages in India, supported by a robust technology platform. The company plans to service over 80,000 customers in the current year.

Manish Vij, Business Head, Quasar Media, said, “We will be handling their complete media buying planning and creative for online activity. For their India launch, our strategy is aimed at reaching the right kind of audience. Our endeavour will not only be to educate people but prompt them to start travelling online.”

Additionally, Quasar Media is handling the complete online campaign of Visa for their recently launched money transfer services. The company also services clients such as, Seagate, Samsung and Canon among others. “We are a seven-month-old company and already we are among the top four interactive agencies in India. We expect a billing of Rs 18 crore in the first year,” said Vij.
