MakeMyTrip appoints Chief Biz Officer for Intl Markets

Amit Saberwal has been appointed as Chief Business Officer, International Markets at MakeMyTrip. In this newly-created position, Saberwal will concentrate on expanding MakeMyTrip’s operations and enhancing customer experience in international markets. He will also continue to lead the hotels business for the company, a role that he has been managing for the past several years.

Deep Kalra, CEO and Founder, MakeMyTrip said, “As we move into the next phase of our evolution, we are aggressively focussed on ramping up our presence in international markets. This newly-created position will help us identify and capitalise on partnerships that get us closer to consumers, suppliers and travel technology players in overseas locations. Amit is a proven leader and we look forward to his achievements in this new role.”

Saberwal has been with MakeMyTrip for over seven years and has helped develop the complete distribution of MakeMyTrip products through B2C and B2B channels across India. Previously, he was Senior Vice President – Hotels and International Markets.

On his appointment, Saberwal said, “I am looking forward to this leg of the journey as we strive to move beyond India and create a footprint that spreads from the Middle East to South-East Asia.”

He has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality and tourism industry. He has previously worked as Director Sales and Marketing with The Park Hotels in Bangalore and New Delhi.
