LG plans to launch home networking products

LG Electronics plans to launch its latest Internet microwave oven in India shortly. The product is likely to be priced at Rs 24,000.

According to company sources research conducted by the company revealed that housewives and working women who surf the Net at least twice a week are willing to pay 60 per cent of the premium for the new technology and 40 per cent for the additional benefits that come with the new product.

LG has developed a communication protocol for living network system, called LnCP. LnCP is a communication protocol that is most suitable for products like home appliance that exchange small amounts of data and minimum control.

LG will develop network system that is interchangeable with major network solutions like Microsoft UPnP, Sony Home Audio-Video interoperability, Sun Microsystems Jini.

LG Electronics also plans to introduce more mid-range living network products from this year.
