Share launches two new games, a cricket gaming site launched by former Indian cricket captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth in May 2006, has added two new games – Multi Player & Captain of Captains.

Announcing this at a packed press conference in Chennai on Monday, the former Indian opener said the online gaming industry is currently worth roughly Rs 220 crore, quoting from a report by IMRB International. “The gaming industry in India is growing rapidly and will easily touch the billion-dollar mark in the next five years. Gaming in India is only catching up now unlike in the West where it is a huge business. The key drivers of this industry are the youth in the 17 -25 years age group,” Srikkanth said.

Speaking about the salient features of the new games, Adithyaa Srikkanth, CEO, Krishcricket, said, “Krishcricket has stepped up to the next level in terms of gaming with its multi-player online gaming feature. It is a unique innovation in the world of online gaming and offers many distinct features.’’

Krishcricket is also in the process of establishing significant partnerships with other corporate giants like Hewlett-Packard, Airtel, Aircel, MSN and Reebok, among others, the realm of cricket gaming and entertainment.

Multi Player’s chat feature facilitates gamers to chat by virtually creating a cricket specific chat room. Gamers currently actively playing with other contestants will have their status as `busy’ while those waiting for a contestant can be mutually contacted over. Captain of Captains allows gamers to don the role of a captain and a chance to choose their best eleven. Every registered user of Krishcricket can play this fantasy game.

Apart from games, visitors to the website can also learn how to ‘Bat Like A Master’. There are videos of Srikkanth giving lessons on different batting techniques. There are also video interviews, under the section named ‘World Cup’83 Legends’, with five players who share their experience of playing in the memorable final match of the 1983 World Cup.
