IPOY 2016: An award of this kind speaks of an organisation’s calibre to adapt to change: Anil Kapoor

In its 12th year, the IMPACT Person of the Year, 2016 Award instituted by the exchange4media Group to recognize excellence in the Advertising, Media and Marketing domain, Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor graced the event as the chief guest. He started his address by mentioning media persons like Arnab Goswami and Raj Nayak he admire and look up to.

The audience was enlightened to Kapoor’s perspective on broadcast industry through his speech. “Broadcast industry is new for me. Four years back I had limited understanding of how ratings, advertising and television production work. From then until today a lot has changed. What seemed like alien concepts back then are those that I understand much better though I haven’t mastered them yet. So today in this room I feel like a toddler in comparison to all the stalwarts who unlike me have spent decades mastering the various nuances of the media, marketing advertising and of course fraternity. I call it fraternity because there is a brotherhood, a deep understanding of each other business, roles and ability.”

With that he credits IMPACT Person of the Year, 2016 Award for bringing effectiveness in the organization, “A lot can be credited to Exchange4media Impact Person of the Year Award. An award of this kind speaks not only of the effectiveness and decision making for furthering an organization’s goals and visions but also its calibre to adapt to change. We had some incredible nominations for the same. And, each and every one of them has contributed positively towards the development of this country, be it CVL Srinivas or Shashi Sinha for taking great effort to more transparent measurement of audiences across TV and film industry in India and other great entrepreneurs who have proved to be visionaries in their respective industries, taking Indian businesses to unparalleled heights.”

He concluded by talking about how 2016 has been an interesting for the industry and how it favours those who take changes in their stride, “2016 has been a tremendous year for the industry. We saw so many policy changes and these leaders have adapted beautifully, taking changes in their stride.”
