InMobi bets big on India; announces key appointments

Bangalore-based company, InMobi embarked upon its expansion plans and has set up offices in New Delhi and Mumbai. In accordance to these plans, the company recently appointed Sandeep Deshpande as Country General Manager, India and Vishal Nongbet as Business Head of Brands.

Speaking on the appointments, Naveen Tewari, Founder and CEO, InMobi said, “With their unique blend of experience in technology, expertise in e-commerce and brand marketing capabilities, we are confident that both Sandeep and Vishal will play an important role in identifying new business opportunities and further expanding our operations in India.”

About his new role, Deshpande said, “I do hope that my experience in setting up new businesses and online marketing will help me take InMobi to new heights.”

Deshpande has over two decades of experience in launching and growing new businesses. Prior to joining InMobi, he spent nearly a decade in the internet industry, working for organisations such as Yahoo, Alibaba and Rediff. In his new role, he will be responsible for InMobi's business operations and growth in India.

Nongbet brings 13 years of varied experience in lifestyle and youth product marketing, largely in the fields of consumer goods, and media and entertainment. He has worked with companies such as Pepsi, Times Music, Kodak, Mumbai Mantra and SMSGupshup.

The popular channel from the Viacom18 ‘s umbrella MTV Indies, which aired music by independent artistes, was replaced by MTV Beats, a 24x7 Hindi music channel in 2016
