Indian Digital Media Awards 2011 has entered the second phase of judging. The jury members met in Mumbai for a round of deliberations on May 14, 2011 on the entries received. The esteemed jury panel reviewed the nominations and also developed a rationale for the proposed winners.
The winners will be announced at a grand Awards Nite in Mumbai on June 3, 2011.
The meeting was successfully conducted under the jury chairmanship of Shashi Sinha, CEO, Lodestar UM India. The jury members included: Abhijit Saxena, CEO, Netcore; Atul Hegde, CEO, Ignitee; Chhaya Balachandran Aiyer, CEO & MD, BC WebWise; Pat Burns, Executive Creative Director, BMB Madison; Praveen Kulkarni, General Manager – Marketing, Parle Products; Sanjay Tripathi, EVP, Marketing & Direct Channels, HDFC Life; and Sudip Ghose, Director – Marketing, Samsonite.
Each entry was scored for Concept, Execution, Originality, Simplicity and Ease of access and navigation.
Commenting on the Mumbai round of judging, Shashi Sinha remarked that the jury, inclusive of marketers, had impressed him. “The jury was unique,” he said.
Chhaya Balachandran Aiyer was happy with the “healthy discussion” and was confident that the Awards would be “iconic and the best in the country”.
Meanwhile, Sudip Ghose termed the entire judging process to be a great learning experience. Sounding optimistic about digital media, Atul Hegde noted, “Digital is catching up and in the next two years, everything will go digital. Digital has a great future.”
The jury members were impressed with the good variety of entries and added that since they had already judged the entries in round 1, the second round was a much easier process.
