With just three days to go before entries for the 3rd edition Indian Digital Media Awards (IDMA) close, there’s much excitement amongst the jury about the quality of work. Already, an overwhelming response can be seen from the industry’s enthusiastic participation.
Entries will also be received for the two new sub-categories introduced this year – namely, Digital Reports and Digital Starts Ups.
Meanwhile, dates for the two rounds of Jury meet for the Awards have also been announced. The judging process will be spread over two days – March 16 in Mumbai and March 17 in Delhi. The Jury for this year’s Awards is being co-chaired by Mahendra Swarup, Chief Mentor, Smile Interactive Group, and Shashi Sinha, CEO, Lodestar UM.
Commenting on the overwhelming number of entries received this year, Shashi Sinha remarked, “Last year too, we had received an overwhelming number of entries from the digital world and I am hoping that this year we receive more number of entries as we have increased the number of sub-categories and expanded the base of the Awards. I am sure that with the growth of the digital industry, we will get very good response.”
Mahendra Swarup echoed similar sentiments and said, “I am glad to be associated with the Indian Digital Media Awards 2012. Today, digital media is of great importance to the industry as it is growing at a high growth rate. Recently, we have also seen a significant change in overall ad spends and a notable shift in spends to the digital domain. Therefore, honouring people who are contributing to the digital world will encourage the whole industry.”

This year, part of the entry fees collected for the social cause categories will be given for charity.
In 2011, some of the major winners of the IDMA Awards included Deep Kalra, Chairman & CEO, MakeMyTrip, who was adjudged IDMA Person of the Year. Interface Business Solutions was declared Digital & Social Media Agency of the Year, while Tata Docomo walked away with the Digital & Social Media Advertiser of the Year Award.
The Indian Digital Media Awards were instituted by the exchange4media Group in 2010 to recognise, celebrate and encourage the work being done in the ever-growing advertising and marketing communications activity in the digital media space. The 2012 Awards night will be held at a glittering ceremony in Mumbai in April.
