Ninety seven entries spread over 55 digital award categories will be honoured at the third edition of the Indian Digital Media Awards, 2012 in Mumbai on Monday, April 16.
More than two months after the announcement of the initiative, exchange4media received 523 entries set to compete for the digital awards. An eminent jury led by Shashi Sinha, CEO of Lodestar UM and Mahendra Swarup, Chief Mentor, Smile Interactive Group, shortlisted 126 entries from of the same. The jury also had the tough task of judging the Hall of Fame category of awards this year that includes IDMA Person of the Year and Digital Start-Up of the Year.
Madan Sanglikar, CEO, AD2C said, “IDMA is an excellent platform to honour the digital industry, which is relatively a new medium in India. We have seen many fresh entries and ideas this year at the award.”
“We have seen some really good work this year in almost all the fields of digital media. While some areas need improvement, overall the size and quality of entries has been promising,” said jury member, Shekhar Sharma, National Director, GroupM Interaction.

Another jury member, Elizabeth Venkataraman, SVP – Marketing, Kotak Life Insurance, shared, “It was a tough task to judge so many entries and judge the best among them. Overall, all the jury members managed to smoothly arrive at the best entries and I am sure that it is going to encourage the industry at large.”
This year, a part of the entry fees collected from entries will be donated for a social cause. In 2011, some of the major winners of the IDMA Awards included Deep Kalra, Chairman and CEO, MakeMyTrip, who was adjudged IDMA Person of the Year; Interface Business Solutions was declared Digital and Social Media Agency of the Year, while Tata Docomo walked away with the Digital and Social Media Advertiser of the Year Award.
