The first ever Indian Digital Media Awards (IDMA), an initiative of the exchange4media Group, were given away at a glittering ceremony in Mumbai on March 11, 2010. In its inaugural year, IDMA had attracted a healthy 435 entries to compete for the Digital Awards. Zapak, Networkplay, 160/2 and Bollywoodhungma.com were the co-sponsors, while Bloomberg UTV was the broadcast partner.
And the winners are…
In the Hall of Fame category, the award for ‘Digital Agency of the Year (2009) went to G2 Direct & Digital, while Tata Tea won the Award for ‘Best Digital Advertiser of the year’. The ‘Digital Entrepreneur of the Year’ and ‘Digital Person of the Year’ Award went to Anil Ambani for brands like Zapak and BigAdda.com, among others, and Shashi Tharoor for evangelising/ popularising the digital medium.
Among the Special Awards, ‘Best Integrated Digital Campaign’ Gold was awarded to Webchutney for Virgin Mobile, while the Silver went to Yahoo! India.
The Gold for ‘Best Public Utility Site of the Year’ went to Tribal DDB India for Dental Hygiene and the Silver in the same category went to Arc Worldwide for the Tata Tea Jaago Re campaign.
Webdunia.com won the Gold for ‘Best Use of Language in Online Advertising’.
The Gold for ‘Best Gaming Site of the Year’ was shared by 7Seas Technologies for Online Real Games and Indian Fantasy Games for Indian Fantasy League. There was no Silver award for this category.
‘Best Use of Gaming as a Tool for Advertising’ category saw Ignitee Digital Solutions winning the Gold for Madhya Pradesh Tourism, while Zapak Digital Entertainment got the Silver award for Axeplay.
The ‘Best Blog of the Year’ Gold went to WatMedia Pvt Ltd for WatBlog, while the Silver was given to BigAdda.com for the Amitabh Bachchan Blog.
The Gold winner in the ‘Best Use of Social Media’ category was Experience Commerce for The Great Driving Challenge, while the Silver was awarded to 141Sercon for Nokia Calling All Innovators.
Gold for ‘Best Use of Viral Marketing’ went to BC Webwise for Virgin Mobile and the Silver went to Mindshare for ‘Sach Ka Saamna’.
Maxus won the Gold and Silver in the ‘Best Use of Mobile Advertising’ category for Nokia Music Store and Nokia Xpress Music, respectively.
G2 Direct & Digital, too, won both Gold and Silver Awards in the ‘Best use of Email Marketing’ category.
BigFlix.com won the Gold for ‘Best Mobile App’ for Big Flix movie rental, while Mindshare won the Silver for Quaker.
Quasar bagged the Gold for ‘Best Corporate Site’ for Apollo Munich, while the Silver award was bagged by G2 Direct & Digital for Singapore Zoo.
RK Swamy Interactive won the Gold for ‘Best Website Debut’ for Human Touch of Chemistry, while Webchutney won the Silver for Tata Tea Jaago Re.
The Gold for ‘Best Use of Online Banner Advertising’ was given to Taproot India for Nirma Bartan, while Madison Communications got the Silver for Airtel DTH.
Pinstorm bagged the Gold for ‘Best Use of Online Banner Advertising in Rich Media’ for CNN and Hungama Digital Media Entertainment won the Silver for Samsung Marine in the same category.
Zapak Digital Entertainment bagged both Gold and Silver awards for the ‘Best Microsite’ for Axeplay and Idiots Academy for the movie ‘3 Idiots’, respectively.
Gold for ‘Best News Site of the Year’ went to Web18 Software Services Ibnlive.com, while the Silver went to Mid-Day Infomedia Limited for Mid-day.com.
Mouthshut.com won the Gold for ‘Best Web Portal of the Year’, while the Silver went to Hungama Digital Media Entertainment for FTV.co.in.
