ICC CWC'11: ESPN partners Cooliris for live photostreams

ESPN-STAR Sports on March 2, 2011, announced that fans would be able to follow the official ICC World Cup photostream in real time, with behind the scenes coverage of the event. This is being made possible through a partnership with Cooliris, which is creating the microsite – espnstar.com/cwcliveshar – and is also creating streams on Facebook, Twitter and for email distribution.

Cooliris has earlier used this LiveShare platform to promote entertainment brands like Ozzy Osbourne, the Stanford Cardinal and Michael Buble.

Aside from this, ESPN-STAR Sports will also stream all matches live on www.espnstar.com and will also be creating 3G video streams of the matches. All these services will be offered free to the consumers.

“ESPN-STAR Sports is always looking innovations to enhance the sporting experience for our fans. With the industry first launch of LiveShare on espnstar.com in Asia, cricket fans can now get closer to the ICC Cricket World Cup action with an insider perspective to cricket’s flagship event, and share the excitement with other fans across the globe,” said James Miner, Senior Vice-President, Digital Media, ESPN-STAR Sports.

“We are thrilled to partner with ESPN-STAR Sports to showcase their premium news content for the ICC Cricket World Cup. This collaboration provides a new way to communicate the defining moments of this event to fans and players as they unfold, on your mobile device or the web,” said Soujanya Bhumkar, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cooliris.
