ibibo.com embarks on ‘Baltigiri’ to let users air their grievances

Internet portal ibibo.com has introduced a platform for its users to express their grievances and gather support, not just from their locality, but from across the country. Called ‘Baltigiri’, the platform is novel community inspired by Munnabhai’s Gandhigiri, and takes forward the communication of unresponsive people categorised as ‘baltis’.

Vivek Bahl, General Manager-Community Marketing, Ibibo Web Pvt Ltd, said, “Ibibo.com has created a platform for users to speak about their grievances and gather support for them. Their grievance could be against an individual or an organisation. If the particular grievance gets the most support from other ibibo users, ibibo would then send a ‘balti’ (bucket) to the individual or organisation not paying heed to the grievance.”

This unique concept is being supported by a TV campaign that has been conceptualised by FCB Ulka.

Explaining the concept further, Sanjeev Bhargava, Chief Operating Officer, FCB Ulka, said, "Balti is the symbol of non-communication, non-responsiveness and non-interactivity. Ibibo.com has been a platform for people who are communicative and responsive. Baltigiri is a specific platform that Ibibo.com is promoting to enable the common man to reach out to the non-communicative and non-responsive people in power against whom they have grievances. The Balti that they send is a strong message to become more responsive and communicative to the problems of the common man through Ibibo.com."
