Hutch joins the Re 1 bandwagon; introduces new postpaid and prepaid plans for Re 1

Hutch has launched two new plans – TalkHome 299 and TalkRoam 499 – for its postpaid customers and Recharge Card 899 for its prepaid customers. While the TalkHome 299 plan will allow postpaid customers of Hutch to make calls to any phone across India at Re 1 per minute, the TalkRoam 499 plan will also enable customers to make and receive calls while roaming on Hutch network at Re 1. On both these plans local and national SMS is at Re 1, while local calls made from a Hutch number to another Hutch number will be charged at Re 1 per two minutes.

For its prepaid customers, Hutch has introduced Recharge Card 899, which will enable customers to make calls to any phone across India at Re 1 per minute. The Recharge Card 899 has a validity of one month and offers talk time of Rs 550. While all local and STD calls and SMS will be charged at Re 1 per minute, standard rates will be applicable while roaming.

Naveen Chopra, Chief Marketing Officer, Hutchison Essar Ltd, said, "Postpaid customers of Hutch can now benefit from uniform tariff plans to make local/STD calls and SMS within India at Re 1. We are also pleased to extend this benefit to our prepaid customers with Rs 899 recharge coupon with one month the validity."
