Hungama Mobile to represent Indian digital entertainment industry at Mobile World Congress

Hungama Mobile is the only Indian company that would be representing the Indian mobile VAS industry at the forthcoming Mobile World Congress 2008. The event, which will take place from February 10-14, 2008 in Barcelona, Spain, is a platform for everyone looking to understand what will drive the success of the mobile industry over the years.

The Congress will bring together eminent leaders and personalities among mobile operators and equipment vendors as well as those from the Internet and the world of entertainment. Nearly 500 companies and organizations, including Sony Pictures, Warner Music, BBC, NBC, Yahoo, Google, Microsoft, Cannes Film Festival, Robert Redford’s Sundance Film Festival, Warner Bros, and News Corp, are expected to attend the convention.

While participating in the Mobile Film Festival (MOFILM), Hungama Mobile will be representing Indian cinema and Bollywood at the festival. MOFILM will showcase Ocher Studio and Adlabs’ film venture, ‘Sultan The Warrior’, a live action animation on Southern superstar Rajnikanth; Bollywood multi-starrer ‘Race’; and the music album ‘Outrageous’ by Sherlyn Chopra from the T-Series collection.

Apart from the MOFILM initiative, Neeraj Roy, MD and CEO, Hungama Mobile, will deliver a keynote address on Digital Content at the Congress. Roy would be sharing the platform with the likes of John Chamber of Cisco; Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo of Nokia; Wang Jianzhou, CEO of China Mobile; Paul Jacobs of Qualcomm; Masayoshi Son of Softbank; Shin-Bae Kim of Korea’s SK Telecom; and Ralph de la Vega of AT&T.

The key objectives of the discussion would be to explore digital content opportunities for mobiles across the globe and also to explore mobile operators’ digital content strategies, including business models and partnership strategies.
