HT Media’s job portal Shine.com hits one-million mark

Shine.com, the job portal from Firefly eVentures, a 100 per cent subsidiary of HT Media Ltd involved in building brands and businesses in the Internet space, has reported that its candidate database has crossed the one-million mark. The portal has claimed to have reached this figure within a quarter of its launch.

Amit Garg, Business Head, Firefly eVentures, said “Shine is based on a unique patented matching technology and has a lot of useful career-related content and tools that help candidates make the right career choices. Our crossing a million candidates is an early indicator of the fact that it is being perceived as a differentiated offering by candidates.”

He added, “From a recruiter’s perspective as well, Shine’s matching technology makes immense business sense because it allows shortlisting of relevant candidates within minutes, as compared to days spent using other means.”

A key focus area for Shine is maintaining a healthy quality of profiles of candidates – in terms of experience, educational qualifications and so on. A majority of candidates on Shine have more than two years’ work experience, and there is a good representation of candidates from premier institutes in the country, and from across organisational levels.

Garg claimed, “According to a monthly brand track being conducted for us by an independent market research agency, Shine is being perceived by consumers as being innovative, attractively designed, with better paying jobs, and for well qualified candidates – all of which is in line with our intended positioning.”

The job portal has aggressive media plans for the whole year, which kicked off with its multimedia launch burst across TV, Internet, print, OOH, radio, cinema, and below-the-line activities.
