Facebook shows 49% YoY revenue growth in Q1'15

Facebook shows 49 per cent YoY revenue growth in Q1’15. Monthly Active Users (MAU) were 1.44 billion as of March 31, 2015; an increase of 13 per cent YoY. Mobile MAUs were at 1.25 billion; an increase of 24 per cent YoY. The social networking giant also said that Daily Active Users (DAU) increased 17 per cent YoY and averaged at 936 million while mobile DAUs increased 31 per cent YoY to reach an average of 798 million in March.

On the financial front, revenue for the first quarter of 2015 totalled $3.54 billion, an increase of 42 per cent, compared with $2.50 billion in the first quarter of 2014.

Advertising revenue continued its strong growth and was $3.32 billion, a 46 per cent increase from the same quarter last year. The company also said that excluding the impact of year-over-year changes in foreign exchange rates, revenue from advertising would have increased by 55%.

Mobile advertising revenue represented approximately 73 per cent of advertising revenue for Q1’15, up from approximately 59 per cent of advertising revenue in the Q1’2014.
