At the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) 10th India Digital Summit held in New Delhi, Murugavel Jankiraman, Founder and CEO of CONSIM (now known as matrimony.com) shared some key learning’s about his brand building journey during his address at the summit.
Highlighting the importance of long term brand building and leveraging its benefits, Jankiraman said, “New organisations must not be hesitant to invest in data and analytics. At times, some things can be imitated to enhance your product. Effective imitation at times can be good for implementation and innovation. Moreover, building a product and building a brand are like different sides of a same coin. It is better to grow healthy instead of growing faster to be a winner in the long run.”
Speaking about the key learning’s during his entrepreneurial journey, he elaborated, “It is important to give more levy and provide a voice to the recruitment team. Getting a good recruitment team, getting more involved in the operations and getting the monthly review process integrated means half the work done.”
“Concepts like zero budgeting, eradication of automatic approval of resources can help in ensuring a healthy growth for start-ups. Finally, an entrepreneur must make sure to continue to do what his mind says and one must continue to address the challenges and keep putting one’s best efforts at all times”, he further added.
